ASUS just announced the ZenFone 6 which marks a new direction for the lineup.

As the first ZenFone to have no notch, the ZenFone 6 uses a motorized flip-up camera module so that the front display has no ugly black bar or punch-hole cutout. This helps the phone to achieve a 92% screen-to-body ratio.

The flip-up camera module consists of a 48MP Sony IMX586 f/1.79 sensor and a 13MP 125° ultra-wide lens. You can control the angle of the flip-up camera module from 0 to 180°. It also has a G-sensor to detect if the phone is dropped, and returns the camera module to a safe position to prevent any impact damage.

The 6.4-inch Full HD+ (2,340 x 1080 pixels) IPS display has a cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 color gamut for vivid colors and boasts 600 nits of brightness, so it remains readable even under bright sunlight. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 against scratches and consecutive drops of up to 1m.

Another key feature of the ZenFone 6 is its massive 5,000mAh battery. ASUS claims it is able to deliver up to 2 days of non-stop usage, up to 26 days of standby on 4G, up to 33.3 hours of 3G talk time, and up to 21 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing. The ZenFone 6 can recharged quickly with Quick Charge 4.0

Other specs include Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, 6/8GB RAM, 128/256GB internal storage space with microSD support up to 2TB, Android 9.0 Pie with ZenUI 6, a rear fingerprint sensor, USB-C port, a tray with three slots for two nano-SIM cards and 1 microSD card, NFC, stereo dynamic speakers, and a smart key for activating Google Assistant or a customized action.

ASUS has yet to reveal the pricing and retail availability. We will update this article as and when information is available.
