If you're casing the joint for a new notebook this festive season, perhaps you might want to check out the newest addition to the ASUS Republic of Gamers family.

Granted, it's certainly a little larger than most of its counterparts with 14 or 15-inch screens, but as the company touts it, that's not a problem at all, and we'll explain why that's the case in a moment. Among numerous other plus points, the 16-inch Zephyrus M16 notebook boasts immense reliability and versatility, as it is not only tailor-made for enjoying content on the go, but producing it as well, the latter of which is known to be quite taxing even for some desktop systems.

On the outside, you'd be forgiven for thinking that a 16-inch notebook is going to be noticeably heavier and bulkier than other, slimmer options. But not this one. At a mere 19.9mm thin and weighing 1.9kg on the scales, the Zephyrus M16 might actually give smaller laptops a run for their money in terms of sheer value. After all, extreme portability is a big part of its resume, and it pairs well with the fast-charging 90Wh battery and increased screen real estate afforded by its larger display.

Zooming in on the latter, the Zephyrus M16 features a smooth and highly accurate 16-inch WQHD resolution display that not only boasts PANTONE-validated colours across 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, but also sports a 165Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. Like the rest of the notebook itself, this is also encased with ultra-slim bezels, promising a 94% screen-to-body ratio that's not only elegant but pleasing to the eye. Speaking of elegance, the Zephyrus M16 also features the brand's handy ErgoLift hinge that lets users adjust the display to fit a multitude of situations, while the CNC-milled perforations in the lid show off the Prismatic Film lying underneath. Put together, the notebook gives off a distinct aura of professionalism, while still retaining that aesthetic edge reminiscent of other ASUS ROG products.

On the inside, its powerful 11th-Gen Intel Core i7-11800H processor, which clocks up to 4.6GHz at maximum output keeps the notebook chugging along even through the most intense content creation tasks. This works well in tandem with its NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card and the aforementioned display, allowing it to render and deliver ultra-immersive visuals without breaking a sweat. As the cherry on top, the Zephyrus M16's audio implements are no slouch either. It comes equipped with six speakers with dual force-cancelling woofers, allowing the notebook to utilise Dolby Atmos surround sound technology for even more immersive experiences. Plus, content creators and gamers alike are sure to appreciate the nifty 3D microphone array, which promises crystal-clear audio reception and delivery during games and streaming sessions.

Last but not least, since we're on the topic of content creators, ASUS ROG has also partnered up with local singer EstelleFly to create a new song titled "Rise Up". According to the singer, it's based on the ROG slogan of "Rise up, Join the Republic", with the key objectives of communicating bravery in the face of adversity. For those interested in checking it out, the song should already be available on the ROG Facebook page, and it will also be made available on streaming services starting from 10 Dec

As for pricing and availability of the Zephyrus M16, the notebook can already be purchased from the ROG Experience Store Bugis as well as the ASUS Online Store and all associated retailers. Prices start at S$3,798
