ASUS Reveals Specs for its Quad-core Transformer Prime [Update]

We first had a glimpse of the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime at the AsiaD conference as well as its new keyboard dock, but now we have in our hands the official breakdown of what to expect from this powerful beast. Highlights include:

  • NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor (to read more about the new quad-core processor, click here)
  • 10.1" LED backlit screen with Super IPS+ (1280 x 800) 10 finger multi-touch, Corning Gorilla Glass
  • 8.3mm thin/586g light
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Android 3.2 Honeycomb (Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgradable)
  • 32GB /64GB1 EMMC + ASUS WebStorage
  • 1.2MP (front), 8MP auto-focus (rear) with flash, F2.4 aperture, Full HD 1080p video recording
  • 12 hours of battery life (Up to 18 hours of battery life when docked and charged)
  • Special apps included: ASUS launcher, @Vibe Music, ASUS WebStorage, MyLibrary, MyNet, MyCloud, File manager, ASUS sync, SuperNote, App Locker, App Backup, TegraZone, Polaris Office
  • Two colors: Amethyst Gray and Champagne Gold
  • A better glimpse at what to expect.

No firm dates have been given as of now but ASUS made mentioned that an official launch event with live demonstration (Ice Cream Sandwich) is scheduled for early December. The 32GB version will go for €$499 with the 64GB version priced at €$599 and the keyboard dock at €$149.
