ASUS' crazy fast 11,000Mbps ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 router is here (Updated!)

Note: This article was first published on 19 Dec 2018 and is republished now to include the availability and pricing details of the regular none Black Ops edition of the router.

At Computex 2018 earlier this year, ASUS unveiled the ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 router - their newest flagship router.

This is a 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) router that can support a maximum throughput of 11,000Mbps through its single 2.4GHz network and two 5GHz networks.

If you don't know what's 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6), I suggest you read this guide first.

For those who want specifics, the 2.4GHz serves up to 1,148Mbps whereas the two 5GHz can manage up to 4,804Mbps each. Of course, these speeds can only be achieved with a compatible Wi-Fi 6 client, of which there are none now.

As befits its status as a flagship router, its Ethernet WAN port supports speeds of up to 2.5Gbps. It also has four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports.

That's not all, it has more tricks up its sleeves. It also supports DFS (dynamic frequency selection) so you can use Wi-Fi channels that are normally reserved for the military and government. The ROG logo on the top panel also supports ASUS Aura RGB lighting so they can be customized to your heart's content.

In collaboration with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Black Ops 4 Edition which features special Black Ops 4 graphics on the router and a Black Ops 4-themed user interface will be available from 20 December exclusively at Challenger (Bugis Flagship Store and NEX) and Hachi.tech. It will be priced at S$699.

If you missed out on the abovementioned Black Ops edition of the router, ASUS now has the regular version of the ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 ready. It will be launching at IT Show 2019 at a special show price of S$639 (U.P S$699).
