Arlo Pro 3 now supports HomeKit

Arlo has announced that its Pro 3 security camera system is now compatible with Apple HomeKit.

Launched last September, the Arlo Pro 3 features 2K QHD recording and a super-wide 160-degree field of view. Equipped with a built-in siren (that can be configured to sound when movement or sound is detected), an integrated spotlight and capable of 2-way audio and colour night vision (so you see colour footage even at night), the weather-resistant and wire-free Pro 3 is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Like the Arlo Pro, Arlo Pro 2 and Arlo Ultra, the availability of HomeKit on the Arlo Pro 3 means that you can access the system using the Apple Home app and Siri voice commands on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. In addition to getting notifications from the Home app when, say, motion is detected, you can also use the app to set up automations that involve your other HomeKit accessories. For instance, you can have a light turn on automatically when the camera detects motion.

That being said, HomeKit support doesn’t equate to HomeKit Secure Video support. While the entire Arlo lineup now supports HomeKit, none of the cameras support Home Secure Video, which means you still can’t save your recordings in iCloud.
