James Wan's Aquaman sequel, aptly titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to make a splash on HBO GO come 27 February. The film sees the return of Jason Momoa, who plays the titular character. He's not alone; the ensemble cast featuring Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman reprising their roles.

The narrative picks up with the villain Black Manta, portrayed by Abdul-Mateen II, who hasn't let go of his vendetta against Aquaman, motivated by the loss of his father. This time, his thirst for revenge is amplified with the acquisition of the Black Trident, an artifact brimming with ancient power and dark potential. The stakes are higher than ever, pushing Aquaman to seek assistance from an unexpected quarter – his brother Orm, once the ruler of Atlantis and now a prisoner. This alliance, fraught with tension and past grievances, is the cornerstone of their strategy to thwart Black Manta's plans, safeguard their domain, and avert a catastrophe that threatens the very fabric of their world.

The production team behind this underwater saga includes Peter Safran and Rob Cowan, who join James Wan in producing the sequel, with Galen Vaisman and Walter Hamada overseeing the project as executive producers.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom currenly has a 42% Metacritic and 34% Rotten Tomatoes scores.
