Apple's Siri VP leaves his role as part of AI strategy revamp
Bill Stasior, who led the Apple's Siri team for 7 years, has reportedly stepped down from his role according to The Information.
Five sources with knowledge of the matter told The Information that the change in leadership is part of an effort by John Giannandrea's strategy to "focus more on long-term research" rather than incremental updates.
Stasior remains at Apple, but there is no information on his new role in the company. He was hired by Apple in 2012 to oversee Siri after Siri co-founder Dag Kittlaus left the company.
Giannandrea, who was the former senior vice president for search at Google, joined Apple in April 2018 and was promoted to senior vice president in December. He manages the iPhone and Mac's "machine learning and A.I strategy".
