Apple's release of the first-gen mixed reality headset could be delayed again
Apple's unveiling of the mixed reality headset could be delayed again according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
While the mass production of the mixed reality headset is still on track, Kuo claims the likelihood of it being announced at WWDC 2023 is "decreasing". Kuo believes the mixed reality headset might launch alongside the iPhone 15 lineup in September.
Kuo claimed in June 2022 that the mixed reality headset would launch in January 2023 due to the lockdowns in China. There were rumours of hardware, software and service issues to fix. In early January, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg said Apple planned to unveil the headset ahead of WWDC. Gurman followed up a few days ago that the launch is now postponed from April to June.
Apple has filed trademark applications of the headset in several countries and references to "Reality OS" have also been found in the upload logs of the Apple App Store, which mean the company is already gearing up for a launch.
