Apple's new M2-powered iPad Pros expected to debut "in a matter of days"

The Apple 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2021).

New M2-powered Apple iPad Pros are said to be announced "in a matter of days" according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman says the new iPad Pro models (codenamed J617 and J620) will look like the current models and come with the M2 chip. Other rumoured specs include MagSafe charging, reverse wireless charging, a bigger battery capacity, and a camera module similar to the iPhone 13.

For 2023, Gurman claims Apple is working on an iPad docking accessory to transform the tablet into a smart home display. There are also reports of a hybrid device with the features of the HomePod, Apple TV and FaceTime camera in the works. In addition, a 14.1-inch iPad Pro might arrive in early 2023.

Apple is unlikely to hold an event this month to announce the new iPad Pros and Macs. iPadOS 16.1 is widely believed to be released on the last week of October.
