Apple's mixed reality headset said to support Wi-Fi 6E connectivity
Apple's upcoming mixed reality headset is rumoured to support Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote in his latest investor note that the faster Wi-Fi 6E connectivity is important in delivering a high-end, immersive experience. Kuo says new headsets from Meta and Sony will adopt Wi-Fi 6/6E next year. Wi-Fi 6E boasts higher performance, lower latency, and faster data rates in the 6GHz band, which provides higher bandwidth and less interferences.
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg shared yesterday that the mixed reality headset will have both AR and VR capabilities to deliver "a mixed reality experience that can handle games in high-quality virtual reality". However, The Information claims that the headset needs to be tethered to an iPhone to maximise its functionality.
