Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has new information regarding Apple's mixed reality headset.

Gurman claims the headset will have both "augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) capabilities" and Apple aims to deliver a "mixed reality experience that can handle games in high-quality virtual reality". He added that the mixed reality headset will be "pricey" and has "advanced chips, displays, sensors, and avatar-based features".

While it is expected to be unveiled as early as 2022, Gurman says Apple will have "a true AR-only headset" in the next few years. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said last month that there could be production delays for the headset with mass production only starting in Q4 2022.

Gurman's claims are in line with previous reports on the mixed reality headset. The Information claims that the headset may cost around US$3,000 and have ultra high-resolution 8K displays with advanced eye-tracking technology. TheElec believes Apple will use micro-OLED tech for the display of the headset. In a recent report, The Information says the mixed reality headset needs an iPhone connection to maximise its functionality.
