Apple's mixed reality headset could debut later than initially expected.

People familiar with the situation told Bloomberg that Apple is considering to delay the launch of its mixed-reality headset by at least a few months. It was initially planned for a debut at WWDC in June and retail availability was scheduled for the end of the year.

Apple is reportedly facing development challenges with the headset, which include overheating caused by the use of high-end processors, cameras and software-related issues. Supply-chain partners were notified that the mixed reality headset may not be released until next year.

Bloomberg added that WWDC 2023 will focus on building virtual and augmented reality apps for the headset. The mixed-reality headset is rumoured to have its own App Store, and built for gaming, media consumption and communications.
