Apple will prioritize MacBook keyboard repairs to provide next-day turnaround

An internal memo obtained by MacRumors shows that Apple is aware that its MacBook keyboards is causing grieve for some owners and is prioritizing its repair.

According to the memo, which is titled "How to support Mac customers with keyboard-related repairs in store," most keyboard-related repairs must now be completed in store and that they should be prioritized to provide next-day turnaround time.

From the memo:

Most keyboard-related repairs will be required to be completed in store until further notice. Additional service parts have been shipped to stores to support the increased volume.

These repairs should be prioritized to provide next-day turnaround time. When completing the repair, have the appropriate service guide open and carefully follow all repair steps.

Apple's keyboard woes began with the 2015 MacBook when they introduced a keyboard with low-profile switches that would allow them to make thinner notebooks.

These keyboards drew mixed reviews, but more importantly, started experiencing problems with sticky and unresponsive keys mostly due to dirt or particles stuck under the keys.

Apple tried to fix the problem with the 2018 MacBook Pro by adding a silicone membrane to the switch, but some users still encountered problems.

Personally, my experience with these keyboards have been more positive. Though I'm not fond of the fact that it has next to no key travel, it is still perfect usable to me and I haven't (touches wood) had issues with sticky or unresponsive keys as yet.

But maybe I'm lucky, so I would like to hear about your experiences. Share them below.
