Apple TV+ film Tetris is coming March 31
Apple has dropped the first trailer for its upcoming Tetris movie, telling the true story of how one of the world's most iconic and popular video games found its way to avid players around the globe.
Starring Taron Egerton as Henk Rogers, the Dutch entrepreneur who discovered the game in 1988, Teris follows Rogers as he joins forces with inventor Alexey Pajitnov (Nikita Efremov) to bring the game to the masses.
Rogers eventually secures the rights to distribute Tetris on video game consoles, paving the way for its meteoric rise.
Set during the Cold War, the film is hardly what you'd expect from a movie with a name like it does. It is a spy thriller of sorts, featuring double-crossing villains, unlikely heroes, and a nail-biting race to the finish.
The movie has been in the works for nearly a decade and will finally hit Apple TV+ on March 31. It is directed by Jon S. Baird from a script by Noah Pink, and produced by Matthew Vaughn, Gillian Berrie, Claudia Vaughn, Len Blavatnik and Gregor Cameron.
