Other than the Xbox, Apple’s TV app is also coming to Sony’s PlayStation consoles. This has been confirmed by Sony in an official blog post.

Set to arrive on ‘Day 1’ alongside the PlayStation 5 in Nov, the Apple TV app will reside in a separate space on the home screen dedicated for media apps (basically, just next to the Game home screen). According to Sony, apps in this Media space don’t come from the PS Store, which suggests they’re preloaded at the factory.

Sony:

Enjoy Apple TV+, Apple TV channels, new and popular movies, and personalized, curated recommendations on the Apple TV app. That means users can enjoy Apple Originals like Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, Ted Lasso, and The Morning Show through Apple TV+, subscribe to premium channels, and buy or rent movies and TV shows and access past purchases from Apple.

Other than the Apple TV app, the PS5 is also getting Disney+, Netflix, Spotify, Twitch and YouTube right out of the gate, with more like Amazon Prime Video and Hulu coming at a later date. The console has a new Media Remote, too, with built-in play/pause, fast forward and fast reverse buttons that users can use to navigate their media. The remote also has dedicated launch buttons for Disney+ Netflix, Spotify and YouTube.

And finally, Sony says the Apple TV app will also be available on the PS4.
