Apple says it's normal for some iPad Pros to be slightly bent

More than a month after reports surfaced of the new iPad Pros being slightly curved or bent out of the box, Apple finally issued an official statement on the matter.

In a statement to The Verge, Apple confirmed that some of its 2018 iPad Pros are shipping with a very slight bend in the aluminum chassis. It states that the slight bend is actually a side effect of the tablet's manufacturing process and unlikely to worsen over time or adversely affect the performance in any practical way. To put it simply, Apple does not consider the slight bend in the iPad Pros to be a defect.

The Verge reports that the bending issue seems to be more apparent on the LTE models, which could be due to the plastic strip that breaks up the flat aluminum sides. Apple did not specify which model is more prone to the issue, but similar cases have been reported on the Wi-Fi only models. Apple also shared that it has not seen a higher-than-normal return rate for the 2018 iPad Pros at the moment.
