Apple said to have lowered production of iPhone XS and XR

Apple said to have lowered production of iPhone XS and XR

The Apple iPhone XS and XS Max.

Regular as clockwork, the supply chain rumors have suggested that Apple lowered the production orders for its latest range of iPhones.

Sources familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that the lower-than-expected demand for the iPhone XS and XR has created a lot of issues for the supply chain partners. With more models being offered in the lineup, supply chain partners find it harder to predict component orders.

Lower production orders for the iPhone may not be an issue for Apple; the higher selling prices of its new iPhones mean the company can sell fewer units to make the same amount of money.

Nonetheless, the latest report corroborates earlier claims by other publications that iPhone XR orders have been cut by up to a third. Similar stories of production cuts for the iPhone X surfaced last year shortly after it hit retail shelves, but the iPhone X proved to be Apple’s most popular handset for several months.
