Apple’s video streaming service to feature content from partners at launch?
Apple is holding a media event on 25 March where it is expected to launch a premium news subscription and preview its video streaming service. Bloomberg claims to have new information on what to expect from the video streaming service.
Sources told Bloomberg that Apple is racing against time to secure movies and TV shows from content partners such as HBO, Showtime and Starz. Apple is reportedly offering concessions to get the deals signed by a Friday deadline.
Having said that, the video streaming service is likely to launch with content mostly from content partners while Apple’s original content is still under developement. The first series of original movies and TV shows could launch later this year at the earliest.
Apple is said to be selling the video streaming service and premium news subscription separately, but could offer discounts for consumers who sign up for multiple services.
