Apple’s rumored USB-C charger may be exclusive to 2018 iPhone lineup at launch
The rumoured 18W USB-C charger for the iPhone may not be available for purchase as a separate accessory according to Macotakara.
According to the Japanese site, there could be supply constraints of the new USB-C charger at launch. Apple is said to have given instructions for the new chargers to be bundled with the 2018 iPhone models, and not sold separately like other accessories or chargers.
Macotakara’s report corroborates an earlier claim by supply chain sources that Apple will ship the new 18W USB-C charger with the new iPhone models. ChargerLab published renders of the charger based on schematics provided by sources in the production line.
