Apple rumoured to unveil the iPhone 9 in mid April

A new report suggests that the iPhone 9 will be launched in mid April.

According to @jon_prosser, Apple is preparing for an announcement on 15 April with shipments starting a week later on 22 April. Due to the Covid-19 situation, it is likely that Apple will issue a press release to announce the new iPhone.

9to5Mac reported two days ago that retailers are being instructed not to start selling the iPhone 9 cases until 5 April. This led to the tech publication speculating that a launch could be imminent. 9to5Mac also uncovered evidence within the iOS 14 code that there could be a larger model. Component orders for the iPhone 9 were reportedly delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak, which could mean the iPhone 9 is likely to launch with limited stocks.
