Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's latest report details the camera upgrades that are coming to the 2019 iPhone lineup.

Kuo expects Apple to upgrade the front camera from 7MP to 12MP on all three upcoming iPhones. The front camera will also use a 5-element lens component, which is different from the 4-element lens used on the current iPhones.

He also believes Apple will add a 12MP ultra-wide lens to the rear of the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch iPhone models. The 12MP/1um sensor is said to be manufactured exclusively by Sony.

Both the front and super-wide cameras are rumored to be specially coated in black so that they can blend in better with the surrounding bezel for an ‘inconspicuous’ look.

Tipster @OnLeaks and Digit.in published purported renders of the 2019 iPhone which show three rear cameras and a square camera bump. The special coating could make the camera bump look more aesthetically appealing.
