Apple to restructure services team to focus on streaming and ad businesses?
Apple's hardware is still the main revenue driver, but the company plans to make its services business contribute more in the future.
Sources familiar with the matter told Business Insider that Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of services, plans to restructure the team to be more profitable.
Cue identified streaming and advertising businesses as potential revenue drivers. Peter Stern, the vice president of services, is being tasked to focus on iCloud, Fitness+, Apple One, books, news and video. Todd Teresi, the vice president of advertising, is said to have taken on more responsibility.
The sources added that Apple is negotiating to bring NFL games to its video streaming service. If it manages to clinch the deal, Apple TV+ will be able to attract more subscribers and run advertisements or offer it as a sports bundle.
