Aside from developing a purported 7K display, Apple is reportedly working on a Mac Studio device.

9to5Mac learnt from its sources that the Mac Studio is based on the Mac mini, but it will boast more powerful hardware. Apple is said to be developing two versions of the Mac Studio; one is powered by the M1 Max while the other variant will run on a more powerful version of the M1 Max.

The Studio branding suggests that Apple may introduce a new a category between the Mac mini and the Mac Pro. If true, the Mac Studio will complement the Apple Studio Display that is also rumoured to be in development.

9to5Mac believes the Mac Studio could be the half-sized Mac Pro which Bloomberg claims to be launching this year. Bloomberg says the half-sized Mac Pro will come with a chipset that boasts the processing power of either two or four M1 Max chips.

Apple is set to unveil its "widest array" of new products this year with refreshes planned across almost every product lineup.
