Apple reportedly slashed iPhone prices in China for the second time

Two months after dropping the prices of iPhones for channel partners in China, Apple appears to be doing it again.

According to the Taipei Central News Agency, major Apple resellers are pushing the iPhone XS with price promotions. Apparently, Apple is letting channel partners purchase the iPhones at lower prices so that they can sell the phones at discounted prices for consumers.

Chinese retailer Suning has slashed the price of the iPhone XS by US$150 for in-store purchases and up to US$195 for online purchases. The iPhone XS Max saw its retail price cut by almost US$300. JD.com is also offering similar promotions for the iPhone models.

iPhone sales reportedly went up in China after the price cuts with Suning reporting a jump of 83%! Apple also shared that it is considering to lower iPhone prices in some international markets to boost sales.
