Apple says the iPhone 15's battery lifespan is better than initially advertised

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro series.

Apple announced that the iPhone 15 lineup has a better battery lifespan than initially advertised.

In an updated support document, Apple states that "batteries of the iPhone 15 models are designed to retain 80% of their original capacity at 1,000 complete charge cycles under ideal conditions." This is quite an improvement from the 500 complete charge cycles of iPhone 14 and earlier models.

This announcement came after Apple retested the iPhone 15 models by charging and discharging their batteries 1,000 times under certain conditions.

In addition, Apple said it made consistent enhancements to the battery components and power management system which led to the better battery lifespan on the iPhone 15 models.

For users of older iPhone models, don't feel sad. Apple says it is "investigating" the battery lifespans of iPhone 14 and earlier models. Furthermore, it is important to note that your actual battery health and capacity depend largely how your iPhone is regularly used and charged.
