Apple plans to sell subscriptions to certain video services through TV app
Apple is planning to allow its customers to subscribe to certain video services directly through the Apple TV app.
According to Bloomberg, the move would simplify the current process where customers have to subscribe to different video services through their respective apps which are downloaded individually from the App Store. The Apple TV app will become the central location for customers to find, watch and buy content on the Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.
The direct video subscription feature is slated for release in 2019 and it would be one of its strategies to boost its service business via content subscriptions.
