You might have to wait until 2028 to see the OLED iPad Air

Apple is said to have plans for an OLED iPad Air in 2028.

Don't expect to see an OLED iPad Air anytime soon because OLED displays will likely remain an iPad Pro exclusive for at least the next three years.

In an updated forecast from research firm Omdia, Apple will likely only introduce OLED displays on the iPad Air in 2028. Omdia added that the OLED technology on the iPad Air would differ from that of the OLED iPad Pro – the latter's OLED displays will reportedly be more power efficient and have a longer lifespan.

To recap, Omdia claimed in October 2023 that the OLED iPad Air could arrive in 2026 depending on the market response to the OLED iPad Pro.

Rumours of an OLED iPad Air surfaced in early 2021, but Apple reportedly ditched the plan due to quality and cost issues.

The OLED iPad Pro is expected to debut within the next two weeks according to multiple reports. Apple is said to have ordered an estimated 8.5 million OLED panels this year for the iPad Pro.
