Apple Music is now available on Samsung TVs
A year ago, Samsung TVs were the first TVs to get Apple’s new TV app. Today, they’re the first to get Apple Music integration.
According to Samsung, Apple Music will be available for Samsung TVs launched from 2018 through 2020. Instead of a firmware update, users just need to download the Apple Music app from the Samsung Smart TV App Store and sign in with their Apple ID.
In Singapore, Apple Music costs S$9.98/month but there’s also a S$4.98/month plan for university students. Alternatively, families can get the S$14.98/month plan that allows access for up to six people. While Apple users would most likely sign up to the service on their Apple devices, with today’s integration, it’s now also possible to begin the subscription process right from a Samsung TV.
Finally, Samsung says owners of its smart TVs can try Apple Music free for 3 months, but that’s an existing trial offer from Apple and not a Samsung exclusive.
To recap, an Apple Music subscription gives you access to 60 million songs, as well as your entire iTunes library, which you can listen to either online or off across your devices. You also get ad-free music videos and live and on-demand radio shows from Beats 1, a 24/7 music radio station owned by Apple.
