Apple Music has more paid subscribers than Spotify in the U.S

Apple Music has reportedly hit a milestone in the U.S; it has more paid subscribers than Spotify. 

According to the Wall Street Journal, sources familiar with the matter claim that Apple Music is expanding faster than Spotify in the U.S. Apple Music is said to be growing at a rate of 2.6 to 3% while Spotify's growth rate is estimated 1.5 to 2%. 

Outside of the U.S, Spotify remains the leader of the music streaming services. As for December 2018, Spotify had 207 million active users globally with 96 million being paid subscribers or users currently in a trial that will lead to subscription. Apple Music has 50 million paid subscribers globally.
