Apple might not release a new 24-inch iMac until end of the year

iMac fans might have to wait till end of the year to buy a new model.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is expected to skip updating the iMac with the M2 chip and will wait for the M3 chip to be available before releasing one. Bloomberg says the M3 chip is slated to arrive at "the tail end of this year at the earliest or next year".

TSMC is believed to be using its second-generation 3nm process to build Apple's M3 chip. The second-generation 3nm process, known as N3E, is said to offer better performance and higher power efficiency compared to the first-generation 3nm process.

Apple unveiled the 24-inch iMac in 2021 which comes in seven colours and an ultra-thin design. It has a 4.5K Retina Display and M1 chip.
