Apple might lose 6 million iPhone 14 Pros from unrest at Chinese plant
Apple is reportedly facing a potential production loss of up to 6 million iPhone 14 Pros.
A source told Bloomberg the unrest at a key manufacturing plant in Zhengzhou is likely to cause a production shortfall of close to 6 million iPhone 14 Pro units this year.
China's zero-Covid policy, which resulted in the lockdowns of major cities, has led to major protests and unrest. Thousands of people are said to be protesting against the Chinese authorities in the streets. As a result, the extent of lost production could change depending on how fast Foxconn can get its workers back to assembly lines.
Apple confirmed earlier this month that the supply of iPhone 14 Pros will be very constrained due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the assembly plant in Zhengzhou. The iPhone maker says it is expecting lower shipments and customers should be prepared to wait a longer time for their orders to arrive.
