Apple is likely to announce these new features for iPadOS 15 and iOS 15 at WWDC

Apple is said to be bringing enhanced multitasking to iPadOS 15 and redesigned notification to iOS 15.

Apple's WWDC 2021 will be happening next week and Bloomberg has an overview of what to expect on the software front.

For iPadOS 15, Apple is expected to introduce an improved multitasking system to make it easier for users to operate multiple apps at the same time. Bloomberg reiterates that the home screen and placement of widgets will be revamped; widgets can be placed anywhere on the home screen.

For iOS 15, Apple is bringing a new design for incoming notification banners at the top of the screen. iMessage, which is present on iPadOS and iOS, will be enhanced to let users set a status (e.g. driving, sleeping) which in turn will determine how notifications are managed. There is also a bigger focus on auto-replying to messages.

For tvOS, watchOS, consumers can expect "enhancements" to the user interface and health tracking. macOS is likely to get minor updates since Apple had a major UI revamp with Big Sur last year.
