Apple launches their Apple Support app for the U.S. market on 14th December 2016. This support app provides handy tips and guides for new and existing Apple product users, be it a newly-gifted iPhone or seasoned Mac veteran.

The Apple Support app was first seen in The Netherlands back in November, according to Apple Insider. At launch, it offered similar services as their website-based support portal, which includes a list of owned devices and user tips.

The app version requires the user’s Apple ID after downloading and installing it. According to TechCrunch, the Apple Store app ability for U.S. users to book an appointment at the Genius Bar is now presented in a more streamlined manner on Apple Support.  There’s also a built-in chat function that links the user to an Apple service expert.

The new app also recognizes all iCloud-registered devices, and is able to track the specific iPhone or Mac model you have. Details like an iPhone’s serial number, IMEI, and AppleCare coverage status are visible from the app itself, alongside relevant support documents for self-diagnosing a variety of problems.

Apple said that the Apple Support app will also be rolling out to other countries in the following weeks.
