Apple iPhone 5se to come with A9 chip and 16/64GB storage options?

The Apple iPhone 5se is said to be an upgraded iPhone 5s with a faster processor, better camera hardware, Apple Pay and a new design.

Mark Gurman from 9to5Mac is back again with more information on the iPhone 5se

According to his sources, the iPhone 5se is likely to sport the A9/M9 processors despite Apple testing prototypes powered by A8/M8 processors. The choice to use A9 chipsets for the iPhone 5se is to avoid making the new 4-inch iPhone look outdated when the A10 chipset debuts in the iPhone 7.

By using the A9 processor, the iPhone 5se will also boast always-on Siri where the user can say "Hey Siri" and launch Siri on the device. As an upgraded version of the iPhone 5s, the iPhone 5se will likely come with a higher capacity option at 64GB.

With these specs in mind, Mark's sources claim that the iPhone 5se will probably replace the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in the iPhone lineup later this year when iPhone 7 launches. The iPhone 5s will be discontinued, but Apple will keep its current price points (16GB - S$728, 32GB S$798) for the iPhone 5se.

Apple will either announce the iPhone 5se at its March event or make an online announcement. It should hit retail shelves in April.
