Apple might be adopting a horizontal camera bump for the iPhone 17 series.
Based on the "supply chain materials:, tipster Digital Chat Station shared that Apple might switch from the current square camera bump design to a horizontal layout similar to the Pixel 9 phones.
Digital Chat Station says it is unclear at the moment how the camera lenses would be arranged. The tipster added that other Android phone makers will be jumping onto the bandwagon and following suit next year.

If true, Apple's adoption of a horizontal camera bump will be a significant design change for the iPhone. Apple has been using the square camera bump design for the iPhone since 2019 – with the exception of the iPhone 16 which has the two cameras stacked on top of each other for taking spatial content.
The purported design change for the iPhone will also no doubt draw comparison with the Google Pixel phones, which have adopted the horizontal layout for the rear cameras since 2021. Google even has an official marketing name for it, Camera Bar.
A move to a horizontal camera layout could make it easier for users to take spatial photos and videos in a portrait orientation – which is the orientation that is preferred by platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
