Purported Apple iPhone 16 Pro battery shows new metal case and new connector
The Apple iPhone 16 Pro battery might have been revealed in leaked images posted by tipster @Kosutami.
Based on the purported photos, Apple appears to have switched from using a black foil casing to a frosted metal shell for the iPhone 16 Pro battery.
The use of a frosted metal casing helps to enhance thermal efficiency. The battery also has a redesigned connector.
This appears to reinforce a recent report on Apple developing a new thermal system for the iPhone 16 Pro. The new thermal system is said to be made of graphene, which has four times better thermal conductivity than copper and can minimize overheating in the iPhone 16 lineup.
Some owners of Apple's newest phones – particularly the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max – complained of overheating not long after launch. Apple later fixed this via a software update.
Since @Kosutami claims this is the battery of an early-stage iPhone 16 Pro prototype, the design and material could still change in the months ahead.
