Apple iPhone 15 Pro could support 5x optical zoom

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro may support optical zoom up to 5x.

Analyst Jeff Pu claims that Apple is negotiating with Lante Optics to supply periscope lens for the 2023 iPhones. Lante Optics is believed to have supplied component samples and Apple is likely to make a final decision by May.

If the decision is made, Lante Optics' periscope lens will be used in the 2023 iPhone Pro models. The company is estimated to supply more than 100 million components, making it the main supplier of periscope lenses for the iPhone 15 Pro models.

DigiTimes reported in December 2020 that Apple could be partnering with South Korean firms to make periscope lens. Apple was granted a patent application in July 2021 on a folded camera system that can be used in small form factor cameras and support 3x optical zoom.
