The Apple iPhone 14 Pro may come with titanium alloy chassis

Apple is rumoured to be using titanium frames for the iPhone 14 Pro next year.

According to JP Morgan Chase's investor report, Apple is said to be using titanium alloy chassis for the higher-end iPhone 14 models. Foxconn is expected to be the exclusive manufacturer of the titanium alloy chassis.

The use of titanium alloy chassis has its pros and cons. While titanium alloy is more resistant to scratches, bending and corrosion compared to stainless steel, it is susceptible to fingerprints and smudges. Apple is reportedly exploring thin oxide coatings to reduce the appearance of fingerprints and a new blasting, etching and chemical process to deliver a high-gloss finish.

The investor report reiterates earlier reports of Apple not releasing an iPhone 14 mini. Another analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo wrote in March that the iPhone 14 Pro could come with a punch-hole display. Kuo also claims that the iPhone 14 Pro will have a 48MP primary camera with 8K video recording capability.
