Apple has just launched a new app called Invites. At its heart, Invites is an event planning and management app. However, in true Apple, fashion it has a few features that showcase the power of Apple’s ecosystem.
With Invites, users can create events and then share them with family and friends. Invitees can then RSVP and the host can manage the guest list from within the app. The app also lets you create a Shared Album that everyone can access and contribute to, which should be handy for parties. There’s also a Shared Playlist feature that should be handy for creating a music playlist for parties – though this requires an Apple Music subscription, naturally.
That said, the ability to manage guest lists appears to be the most useful, especially for larger events and gatherings. It beats sifting through replies on messaging apps and potentially missing out on someone’s response.

The app is now available on the App Store and I gave it a quick spin and it seems straightforward enough. I could create an event and start sharing it in under five minutes.
According to reports, Android users will get access to these features but only via a web-based version of the app on iCloud.
Speaking of iCloud, you’ll need a subscription to iCloud+ to be able to create and send invites. Thankfully, non-subscribers can still receive invites and RSVP to them.
iCloud+ subscription starts at S$1.48 a month and it comes with 50GB of storage that can be used for photos, backups, files, and more.
You can download the Invites app here, and you can find out more and subscribe to iCloud+ here.
