Apple to introduce a 5-inch iPhone model next year?

Apple may be introducing a 5-inch iPhone 8 model alongside the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models next year.

Quoting information from an industry source, Nikkei Asian Review claims that Apple will be introducing three iPhone 8 models with an all-glass design. Chinese companies Biel and Lens are likely to be providing the glass backs for the iPhones.

Earlier in August, the publication reported that Foxconn had been working on a glass casing for the 2017 iPhone for a year so as to prepare itself to deliver more components and assist with more orders. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believed that a larger 5.8-inch iPhone model will replace the 5.5-inch variant.

Nikkei Asian Review - "Apple has tentatively decided that all the 5.5-inch, 5-inch and 4.7-inch models will have glass backs, departing from metal casings adopted by current iPhones, and Biel and Lens are likely to be providing all the glass backs for the new iPhones next year," the source said.
