Apple hit with lawsuit over FaceTime bug
Apple is hit with the first lawsuit over the FaceTime bug that allows others to eavesdrop on users even before they can accept or reject the call.
Attorney Larry Williams II filed a complaint in state court in Houston claiming that the FaceTime bug intrudes on the privacy of “one’s most intimate conversations without consent”. The incident apparently happened when he was taking a sworn testimony during a client deposition.
Williams is demanding unspecified punitive damages on claims of negligence, product liability , misrepresentation and warranty breach. Apple has disabled the Group FaceTime feature and said that a software update will be issued soon to fix the bug.
