Apple has a patent for new AirPods case with touch display
Future AirPods might come with a case that has a touchscreen display.
The U.S Patent and Trademark Office recently granted Apple a patent for a new AirPods case with a touch display. The patent describes how the touch display offers media controls, and access to apps and notifications. The touch display can also transfer a song from the AirPods to a HomePod via Handoff.
As the patent was filed in September 2022, it could take some years before Apple brings this concept to the AirPods.
