Apple says a fix is coming for iPhone 13 users who can't unlock their phones with Apple Watch

As Apple's latest iPhones started getting into the hands of customers around the world, a number of users reported that they couldn't use their Apple Watches to unlock their shiny new phones.

The ability to use Apple Watches to unlock iPhones was one that Apple added in iOS 14.5 and it was a much welcome one since many of us are wearing face coverings and can no longer use Face ID to unlock the phone.

Users who were affected by this problem got a pop-up message that says "Unable to Communicate with Apple Watch".

Fortunately, Apple has confirmed that this was an issue and that a fix will be coming in "an upcoming software update".

Not so fortunately, Apple did not specify which software update will include the fix and neither did they say when it will be available.

In the meantime, they recommend turning off this setting and using your passcode to unlock your iPhone 13.

To turn off Unlock with Apple Watch, simply go to "Settings" and then "Face ID & Passcode".
