Apple could unveil the iPhone XE later this year

The Apple iPhone SE.

Fans of the iPhone SE could have something to look forward to later this year.

A source, which is closely linked to the Foxconn’s manufacturing plant in India, told PC Tablet that Apple is working on a successor to the iPhone SE.

The upcoming phone is reportedly called the iPhone XE and has a 4.8-inch OLED display with Face ID. It is said to retain the iconic rectangular slab design with an aluminium back, which means that the iPhone XE is unlikely to support wireless charging.

The iPhone XE could be powered by the A12 chipset and have a single camera module (12MP f/1.8) on the back. The source added that the iPhone XE will be manufactured by Wistron.
