Apple could announce the (PRODUCT)RED Edition iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus soon
Apple is likely to add a new limited edition color option for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus soon.
According to an internal memo distributed to Virgin Mobile employees which was obtained by MacRumors, Apple will release the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in the limited edition (PRODUCT)RED color.
The new color options will be added to the telco's inventory system within a day or two to coincide with Apple's press release. Mark Gurman, who has a solid track record on Apple's products, corroborated the report in his tweet.
The memo mentions that there will be pre-orders, which suggests that the limited edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and 8 Plus might only be available later this month. There is also no mention of a new color option for the iPhone X. Apple could also include the pricing and availability of the AirPower wireless charging mat in the press release.
Apple unveiled the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in the same color option last year in celebration of its partnership with (RED).
