Apple confirms limited iPhone 14 supply as Covid-19 hits Chinese factory

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The supply of Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be very constrained for the holiday shopping season.

Apple released a statement confirming the temporary impact of Covid-19 restrictions affecting the main iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max assembly plant in Zhengzhou, China.

As the facility is operating at significantly reduced capacity, Apple is expecting lower shipments than previously anticipated. As a result, there will be longer wait times for customers to receive their products.

Foxconn confirmed a Covid-19 outbreak at its biggest factory in Zhengzhou two weeks ago. Back then, the company claimed "a small number of employees" had been affected by Covid-19, and impact to operations and production was "controllable".
