Apple to close offices and stores in China through 9 Feb due to coronavirus
As the coronavirus continues to spread, Apple announced that it will be closing its corporate offices, retail stores and contact centers in China through 9 February.
The temporary shutdown is due to an "abundance of caution and based on the latest advice from leading health experts." The company previously shared that it is restricting employee travel to China to business-critical situations and its revenue forecast is wider than usual due to the uncertainty of the coronavirus outbreak. Its online store remains in operation.
Aside from Apple, other global companies with operations in China have also closed their operations. Google has temporarily shut its offices in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to mitigate the risks of the virus.
