Apple celebrates LumiHealth's first anniversary with new challenges and 10,000 referral points

Since launching last October, Apple's LumiHealth app has seen more than 200,000 downloads on the Singapore App Store and served over 7 million challenges focused on health and wellness to help Singaporeans become more attuned to taking control of their health. That's an impressive number for a locally-made fitness app.

LumiHealth was designed by Singapore’s Health Promotion Board in conjunction with Apple as part of the country’s Smart Nation initiative. When used in conjunction with an Apple Watch's fitness tracking features, the app encourages healthy lifestyle changes through a personalised program and focuses on the individual’s holistic health and wellness.

Today, Apple has announced that LumiHealth will be introducing brand new programs with challenges focusing on weight management. Called Healthy Weight Habits, eligible users will be able to choose to receive a combination of curated nutrition and activity challenges, as well as reminders for regular weight check-ins. Highly personalised, the program is also designed to run for 30 days and users will have the option to repeat it. Apple also said that users who are less active will also be offered curated activity challenges that can be easily completed and tracked on Apple Watch to help them gradually level up their activity.

Additionally, to celebrate one year of LumiHealth, existing users referring new participants using the in-app referral feature will be rewarded with 10,000 points (that's a big jump of over five times the number of points for each successful enrolment previously).
