Apple buys startup that uses AI to generate personalised soundtracks

Apple Music is set to gain some artificial intelligence (AI) features soon.

Bloomberg reports that Apple has completed its acquisition of startup AI Music in the past few weeks. AI Music relies on AI to offer personalised soundtracks and adaptive music. The startup has developed an "Infinite Music Engine" that can generate dynamic soundtracks that change based on user interaction.

AI Music's technology can also deliver bespoke audio solutions for marketers, publishers, fitness professionals, and creative agencies. The startup's vision was to "redefine how we create, interact and experience music".

With the acquisition of AI Music, consumers can potentially see its technologies being applied in Apple Fitness+ where songs are played according to the user's heart rhythm, and Apple's Photo apps where relevant songs can be used for different albums and slideshows.
