Apple announces "Spring Loaded" event for 20 April
Apple just announced its first online event for 2021.
The "Spring Loaded" event will be streamed live on 20 April (21 April, 1am SGT). Apple is expected to release several new products which include the 2021 iPad Pros, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro 2 and AirTags.
Bloomberg reported two days ago that Apple is facing production issues of Mini-LED display panels, which will be exclusive to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro model. It could be available at a later date in limited quantities.
Purported renders of the AirPods 3 show the wireless earbuds adopting an AirPods Pro-like design with shorter stem and replaceable ear tips. For the AirPods Pro 2, Apple is said to be removing the short stem and opted for a more rounded shape that fits into the ear.
The AirTags, which have been rumoured for almost a year, are likely to debut at the event. Tipster Max Weinbach recently claimed that the AirTag will be slightly larger than a 50-cent coin and is estimated to cost about US$39. It is also believed to be bundled with an Apple-designed leather sleeve and a keychain. A purported photo of the leather sleeve was leaked in November 2020.
